Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper - 6:00 pm
As ancient Christian households prepared for the season of Lent, they went to church to make their confession, do penance, and receive absolution. They then cleared their pantries of all the foods they were forbiddento eat during Lent, such as butter, lard, eggs, milk, cheese and meat. One way to use many of these items was to make pancakes; giving rise to the English tradition of Shrove Tuesday pancake suppers. In that tradition, we will be serving pancakes, sausages and orange juice, which will be prepared by the Men's Group. All are welcome at this celebration, which also features pancake races for kids of all ages!
Centering Prayer - 6:15 pm
Do you know what Centering Prayer is? Practitioners often refer to it as resting in God. Want to try? Join us any Tuesday evening at 6:15 pm--no prior experience necessary. If you'd like, come early at 6:05pm for a brief introduction.
