Ministries to Support Trinity Parish
Serving Our Parish Home
It takes the work of many hands to make this vibrant community function. The success of Trinity Parish is in large part due to the willingness of parishioners to pitch-in and contribute their time and energy.
Finance Commission and Treasurer
The Finance Commission assists the vestry in being effective stewards of the Parish resources. Its primary activities are monitoring actual operating and financial results against budgets and making recommendations to the vestry regarding operations, investments, and capital expenditures.
The Commission meets once per month. Nancy Walsworth is the current Financial Commision Chair. Jennifer Fitzmorris is the current parish Treasurer. She is supported by the parish bookkeeper, a staff position.
Endowment Trustees
Since 1970 Trinity Parish has been blessed with a growing Endowment Fund, created to recieve bequests from trusts and estates, and invested and managed through the work of the Endowment Trustees. The five trustees are members of the parish, appointed by the vestry, who serve 5 year terms on the board.
Monday Morning Counters
The function of counting pledge income and other contributions is taken on by a team of 11 parshioners, sometimes refered to as the "Monday Morning Crew." The volunteers work in rotation to count and record the collections from Sunday.
Deanery And Diocese Delegates
Trinity Parish is a part of the Diocese of California within the Episcopal Church (ECUSA). The Diocese, which covers the whole Bay Area, is further divided into Deaneries. We are a part of the Peninsula Deanery. Annually the members of our parish elect delegations to the Deanery and Diocese meetings and conventions. Service on these delegations is a wonderful way to learn about the Episcopal Church beyond Menlo Park, and to participate in its governance.
Recently, the members of our delegation were priviledged to participate in the election of a new Bishop for the diocese of California.
