Buildings and Grounds Commission
The mission of the Buildings and Grounds Commission is to maintain and preserve the Trinity campus and facilities as an attractive and useful facility for the worship of God in Christ, for the nurturing of His children and the support of their individual missions. It is an enabling commission, supporting the needs of the parish by maintaining and improving the Trinity campus buildings and facilities.
What’s the time and talent commitment?
B&G Commission participants attend the monthly commission meeting on the first Tuesday of each month and participate in the annual Parish Work Day. Some commission members take on tasks that range from actually fixing things that need repair to obtaining bids from outside contractors for needed work.
The talent commitment varies with the person’s ability. Some committee members do not have skills or the desire to do actual repairs, like fixing a malfunctioning door knob, or do improvements, like installing a new light fixture. But they would be active in the decision making process during meetings. They might gather information on a particular item that the commission is pursuing, like doing a search for vendors and obtain cost information.
If you are "handy about the house", however, B&G is a great way to put your skills to work serving the Parish community in a very tangible and appreciated way. This commission is also responsible for the maintenance of our beautiful grounds, so gardening skills are very useful.
When does the commission meet?
First Tuesday of the month in the Work Room in Montgomery House. Start time is 7:30pm and meetings are usually over by 9pm.
