OWLS
OWLS stands for Older Wiser Laity in Service. It is a group of "elders" and other parishioners who are interested in fellowship and adventure. We have a monthly catered lunch, a speaker of general or spiritual interest, and time for fellowship.
We meet monthly except for a recess in July. Sample programs this year include: Fire Department presenting a program on Emergency preparedness and a Franciscan Priest who is a "Night Minister" in the San Francisco's Tenderloin.
We try to have two bus trips annually. This year's expeditions are a visit to the De Young Museum in San Francisco and a sightseeing trip to San Francisco with lunch at Delancy's.
In summertime we hold an annual picnic in Flood Park. For this event we extend a special invitation to young parish families with children.
The OWLS activities are planned and managed by a board of nine parishioners who meet on the 1st Friday of the month (except July) in the church library.
When and Where Do We Meet:
The monthly OWLS luncheon is usually held on the second Friday of the month (except July when we take a summer recess), in Angus Hall.
Please call the church office to confirm time and location and to let us know you are attending so we can provide the caterer with accurate numbers.
