Bridges in Nepal at 3rd Sunday Suppers
Don’t miss the first Third Sunday Supper of the fall 2005 on Sunday, September 17th at 6:00 pm. JB and the Holy Hosts will be cooking a delicious Italian meal, which is reason enough to come, but there will also be an exciting presentation from Trinity Social Ministries (Outreach).
Arjun Adhikari of Kathmandu, Nepal is visiting the United States for the first time, hosted by Oakland resident and environmental reporter on California and Nepal -- Cheryl Colopy. We have the privilege of hearing Arjun talk about Nepal. He will be wearing his traditional Nepalese attire. David and Haydi Sowerwine, Trinity parishioners, who are just back from living in Nepal for 13.5 years, will give an update on the Trinity Bridge project.
In the spring of 2005 more than $20,000 was raised to build two bridges in Nepal. One bridge is being built at Maluwabesi on the Sun Kosi River enabling 4.000 to 8,000 villagers access to the health center and schools on the other side of the river during monsoon season. Don’t miss this interesting and informative evening and celebration of Haydi and David’s return. There will be a slide presentation, a bridge model, and coloring pictures for children.
