Job Description for New Family Ministries Director
With Pamela's departure to St. Louis we are searching for a new directory for our vital and very successful Family Ministries position. The formal job description is posted below, and is being circulated through the diocese.

Posting for Director of Family Ministry 12/1/05
Director of Family Ministry on a part-time basis with the following responsibilities:
Children’s Faith Formation including Children’s Christian Education
• Supervise and coordinate the Sunday morning nursery and preschool program
• Supervise ongoing training and support for the Sunday morning curriculum, Godly Play plus other curricula as determined by staff.
• Responsibility for special seasonal programming including Christmas and Easter
• Supervise and coordinate intergenerational festivals and events for feast days
• Recruit volunteers of all ages to staff the above programs
• Facilitate the smooth transition of children from Sunday school to the youth program
Faith Formation for Parents and caregivers
• Coordinate and supervise teachers for:
- Love & Logic Parenting
- Classes that equip parents to pass on the faith to their children
- Other educational classes that support faith centered families
• Collaborate and cooperate with the staff and clergy to meet the family ministry goals of all the services, especially the Family Service
• Be a pastoral presence to families
Provide support and leadership to the members of the Family Ministry Commission to enable them to give their unique gifts in ministry to the program.
Administrative Responsibilities:
• Prepare and manage a budget
• Supervise a staff of 2-3 paid Sunday childcare employees and 15 volunteer Sunday school teachers
• Communicate information about the Family Ministry program effectively with parents and the whole church community through personal discussions, email updates, selected mailings, bulletin announcements and the monthly newsletter
Position requires educational experience of a B.A. or equivalent experience. Graduate work in religious education desirable. Degree, such as M.A.R./M.Div. preferred.
