FAITHQUEST for 3rd –5th Graders

We have listened, and we have something new for our older children! In response to both children and parents, Family Ministries is offering a class that builds on the foundation of Godly Play, drawing the children into the stories of our faith and encouraging them to connect these stories with their own lives. In addition, it will incorporate activities that are geared to the developmental levels of upper elementary aged children.

They will travel outside the classroom with their teachers, parents and other adults as guides to explore the mysteries of Trinity’s worship spaces in the form of a “Sanctuary Safari”. Trinity’s children will join with the 3rd – 5th grade class at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco for a morning of Sunday school, a cathedral tour, scavenger hunt and a picnic. They will serve the poor by helping to cook and serve at a soup kitchen. Sally Mancini
will be the lead teacher. This class begins Sunday, March 26 at 10 am. Be a part of this exciting development!

We believe creating this class is part of nurturing our children into a life-long relationship with Christ and the Church. Children who are in 5th grade this year will become part of our active and energetic youth group next year.

Make Art for the Bishop

Trinity’s Family Ministry Commission has voted to participate in the “Make Art for the Bishop’s Consecration” project. California’s new Bishop will be consecrated July 22, 2006. Children's artwork submitted by May 1, 2006 will be considered for use in several large visual installations that will grace the consecration with visible signs of the vibrant ministry of our children. Commission Member Mindy Kirkpatrick will facilitate our participation in this event and will be announcing details shortly.

Inaugural Trinity Parish Email Broadcast

An advancement in Trinity Parish communications first proposed in 1996 has finally become a reality! In March we sent our first email broadcast to all parishioners registered in our email database.

In consideration of the privacy of our parish family, we have structured this system such that each email is individually addressed; each recipient sees only his or her address on the message. We have also pledged to hold these addresses very closely, using them only for occasional official broadcasts from the parish. This is not a "chat" board where all responses are routed to the whole group.

Initial feedback is very positive. If you have not received a message from Trinity and would like to be on our list, please send a message to communications@trinitymenlopark.org and we'll add you to the list.

At the March meeting the Vestry approved an official policy statement concerning the privacy of the parishioners email addresses and the use of them for mailings. You can download that policy statement here.

FOOD of the MONTH

Food donations to Ecumenical Hunger Program (EHP) in East Palo Alto will have a
bigger impact than usual in April. A national organization determined to end hunger will
match each item donated to eligible programs dealing with hunger during the month of
April. Trinity Parish can play an important part in helping EHP to take advantage of this
challenge grant opportunity. Let’s support EHP as it combats hunger in our Mid-
Peninsula communities.

The Social Ministries Commission encourages your continued
support of EHP with food donations which can be left in the receptacle at the rear of the
sanctuary or the designated container in Trinity Hall.
