Vestry Notes from March meeting
Rector’s Report: Fr. Mike said he and his family feel very much welcomed and supported by the parish. He is looking forward to meeting individually with the parish leaders of Trinity’s many ministries—Bible studies (3), Altar Guild, Flower Guild, OWLS, supper clubs, Manna Ministry, the Deanery Commission, etc. This will be a listening process to find out how people feel and to learn what is going on in their ministries. Do not be afraid to talk with Father Mike if you have ideas and ministries you would like considered.
June Vestry Retreat: In mid-June the Rector and the Vestry will retreat together to firm up our vision for Trinity parish and prepare a mission statement. The Vestry’s primary job for the next several months is to define what things are vital to Trinity parish—what should our parish be like in five/ten years, what is God’s purpose in having Trinity church in this place at this time, what role does Trinity play in our area, and how do we present the Christian faith here. Do not hesitate to contact a Vestry person to discuss the parish vision or our mission statement.
Welcoming people has always been and will always be a primary spiritual discipline for all Christians. We have some positive indications that our efforts to that end are being rewarded. We have about sixteen new families at the 9:10 service, and six at the 10:00 o’clock service. Two ushers at a 10:00 am service in early March really stood out. Doug Molitor and Jonathan MacQuitty were particularly gracious, welcoming and assisting a new parishioner.
