Year-End message from the Vestry

Another December is here, and Holy Trinity can look back on a remarkable year of progress and challenge, and look forward to a coming year of great promise. This month your Vestry will celebrate the service of our “graduating class”, Peter Bostock, Howard Smith, Nancy Grove and Jeff Cunningham. Their challenging three-year terms have spanned a change of Rector, many long and difficult meetings, and repeated calls to step forward and serve this community. They deserve all our thanks and congratulations.

But this is also the season of Advent, a time to anticipate beginnings and new promise. Four new Vestry members have been elected to serve and will use this month to learn and prepare. Their years on Vestry will be exciting times of growth and exploration, as this vibrant community takes up the challenge of linking ancient faith and traditions with a modern culture and people. This is joy-filled work and yet also challenging, and even frightening at times, as we strive to adapt, adjust and welcome all the new things and new people God is bringing to us. Your Vestry will need your ideas, your encouragement, and your prayers in the coming year. Please seek us out and share what is in your thoughts and your hearts. And give thought this Advent and Christmas to how you and your family will grow in faith and devotion within this community, and in service to this community.

Peace and Blessings, Happy Advent, Christmas and New Year, from...
