Vestry News for September

The Vestry continues to focus on parish operations and our goals for 2009: (1) Engaging
worship, (2) Intentional faith development, (3) Radical welcoming, (4) Call our new

rector, and (5) Action for mercy and justice. Here is an update of our recent activities.

New Rector: We selected Mathew Dutton-Gillett as our new rector.

Outreach: We approved the Outreach Commission's request to make $42,000 in grants
to various recipients.

Rectory: We are implementing significant improvements to the rectory prior to the
arrival of the Dutton-Gillett family.

Building Improvements: We approved the recommendation from Buildings and
Grounds that a new furnace be installed in Montgomery House.

Purchase of new copier: We acted on the recommendation of the Finance Commission
and authorized the purchase of a modern printer with networking, faxing, and copying

capabilities to replace our current copier.

Election of new treasurer and assistant treasurer: We acted on the recommendation
of the Finance Commission and elected Kent Smith and Robert Sage as Treasurer and

Assistant Treasurer.

Vestry Elections: A nominating committee has been formed, chaired by Haydi
Sowerwine, and candidates are being nominated for October’s election.

Vestry meetings are open to all, so please join us if you wish at 7 p.m. on the 4th Tuesday
of every month in the Library.
