Additional offerings during the Advent Season
December 3 - St. Nicholas Visits Trinity During Worship
Every year St. Nicholas visits both services to tell his story and explain how he is part of our Advent and Christmas traditions. At the 10 am Service, St. Nicholas will gather the children and the front of the church to talk with them shortly after the beginning of the service, and then will lead them out to their classes.
December 3 - Advent Festival with Lunch and Carol Sing After Church
Also on December 3, we will have our Advent Festival with Lunch and a Carol Sing following the 10 am service. After church, we will gather in Trinity Hall for a wonderful lunch prepared by the Kitchen Crew. During lunch, we will hear a few words about the Advent season. Materials will be provided to create a home Advent Wreath, and material will be provided for your own devotions to be used with your home wreath. You can make your wreath at church that day, or take the materials home with you. After lunch, we will have our annual Christmas Carol Sing as a kind of parish family pre-Christmas celebration. Join us for a fun day!
December 10 - Lessons and Carols at the 10 am Service
This is a favorite yearly service of music and readings during the 10 am service to celebrate the season of Advent. Please note that Lessons and Carols takes place in the context of Morning Prayer, and therefore there will be no Communion at 10 am that morning.
December 17 - Blue Christmas Service
This service will take place at 5:05 pm, and provides a space for those who find the holidays to be a difficult time, and for those who want a quiet, contemplative space in the midst of the rush toward Christmas. Join with others in the chapel for prayers, music, and healing.
December 24 -- Fourth Sunday of Advent, One Service at 8 am
This year is a rare occurence: The Fourth Sunday of Advent and Christmas Eve coincide on the same day. Because of our afternoon and evening Christmas Eve service schedule, we will have ONE service for the Fourth Sunday of Advent at 8 am in the Chapel.
