October 8/10 - Rev. Mathew's Classes Continues
The Rector's Class, offered on Monday evenings and Wednesday mornings (choose the one that best fits your schedule) began the week of September 24. The Monday evening class meets at 7:00 pm and the Wednesday morning session starts at 10:30 am. Both take place in the Library in Trinity Hall. During the Fall semester, we'll be exploring the thought of Raimon Panikkar, one of the great religious thinkers of the late 20th and early 21st century.
More detailed information will be found here.

October 11 - Peaceful Presence:  Multifaith Voices for Peace and Justice (MVPJ)
Please join is on October 11 at 7 pm in the Trinity Chapel.  This 30 minute multifaith prayer gathering is held on the 11th of each month at member sites around the Peninsula.  See "Community Events" for upcoming gatherings.  Trinity is a member of MFPJ and will host in October.  Come be a welcoming presence for the whole community!

October 12 - OWLS Monthly Luncheon
Please join us on Friday, October 12 at 12noon in Angus Hall.  We have a very special guest speaking. Mary Marsh, a retired FBI agent will join us for lunch and a talk about her career, which started in 1979 after graduating from Cal Berkeley. Little did she know that she would be among the first 300 women agents in the FBI.  During her 26 year career, she worked Organized Crime, White Collar Crime, Foreign Counter Intelligence, and Trade Secret Theft, plus several undercover assignments throughout the years.  Mary will speak about her time in the FBI, some of her cases, and the overall structure of the FBI.  She says her presentation will be much more interesting with questions from the audience, so come prepared to have yours answered! Don’t miss this interesting presentation,
email Alecia  in the Church Office to let her know you will be joining us for lunch.

October 21 - Sustaining Earth, Our Island Home
In August, 2018, the Vestry approved a proposal for Trinity to become a pilot congregation for a new initiative that aims at showing each of us how we can help the planet and work to combat climate change.  Originating in the Diocese of California and with our bishop, the Rt. Rev. Marc Andrus, the initiative was endorsed by the General Convention of The Episcopal Church in the summer of 2018.  On Sunday, October 21st, please join Nancy Grove for a training session in Angus Hall at 11:30 am to learn about this web-based tool that can help us each do our part to care for the planet, and help us see how we as a faith community are collectively contributing to reducing our carbon footprint.  For more info go to
 www.sustainislandhome.org.

October 28 – Harvest Festival & Lunch
Please join us after Church in the Courtyard for a Fabulous Foray into Fall Fun for Everyone! We'll bob for apples, paint pumpkins, eat chili, bounce in a house, and more! Come in costume or come as you are but definitely come, you won't want to miss this!

November 4 - All Saints' Sunday
On Sunday morning, we will celebrate the Feast of All Saints, remembering our loved ones who have departed this life and celebrating the continuing connection shared in Christ between the living and the dead through the Communion of Saints.  The 8 am service will be in the Chapel, rather than the church, to give the choir and musicians extra time for rehearsal.  The 10 am service will include special music for this special commemoration and celebration.

December 3 - St. Nicholas Visits, Advent Festival & Pre-Christmas Lunch
On Sunday, December 3, we will observe the First Sunday in Advent -- and a whole lot more!  St. Nicholas will be making a visit at both the 8 am and 10 am services.  And, following the 10 am service, we will have an Advent Festival and Pre-Christmas Lunch in Trinity Hall, which will include making Advent Wreaths as well carol singing.

December 16 - Lessons and Carols
Our beautiful service of Lessons and Carols for the Advent Season will take place this year on Sunday, December 16, at the 10 am service.  We will hear a cycle of Scripture readings connected to the Advent season, interspersed with hymns and musical offerings from the Choir and Bell Choir.  All of this takes place within the context of Morning Prayer -- which means that Communion will not be offered at the 10 am service on this day.  Please plan to join us for another wonderful Trinity tradition.

December 23 - Blue Christmas Service
Please join us on Sunday, December 23 at 5:00 pm for our annual Blue Christmas Service, in the Chapel.  Coming just before Christmas, this service is designed to acknowledge that, for some people, the Christmas season can be difficult.  For many reasons, people may experience this season not as a time of joy but as a time of pain or grief.   If you find yourself in this place, or simply wish to support those who are, we encourage you to attend.
