December 8 - OWLS Carol Sing
The OWLS gather monthly in Angus Hall for lunch and fellowship! Join them at noon for a meal and some festive carol singing to celebrate the season. Please email
 Alecia in the church office to let us know if you are coming.

December 10 - Lessons and Carols
This is a yearly service in the context of morning prayer where hear the stories and music of the Advent season. We hope you'll join us for this service, it's a favorite of many! 

December 17 - Blue Christmas Service at 5:05 pm 
For some the holiday season can be a less joyful time. In the midst of this season we offer a yearly service called The Blue Christmas Service where we create space within our liturgy to give space to the sadness or grief that some might experience during this season. All are welcome to join us for this moving and meaninful service.

December 24th - Advent 4 & Christmas Eve

December 25 - Christmas Day
Trinity Church will not host a Christmas Day service this year. Our sister church,
St. Bede's, will have a 10 am Christmas Day Service.

December 31 - New Year's Eve
There will be ONE service at 10 am in the Church.

January 8 - Discover Islam Class Begins
Guest scholar Tarek Mourad shares his knowledge and love of Islam and welcomes questions from the Trinity community. Explore the basics in 4 class sessions. Two class times are offered: Monday evenings at 7:00 pm or Wednesday mornings at 10:30 am. Classes will be held January 8/10, January 22/24, January 29/31, and February 5/7.
January 12 – OWLS Matinee Movie Day & Lunch

Please join us on Friday, January 12 at noon in Angus Hall for “Matinee Movie Day” instead of a speaker, where we have lunch together and enjoy a socially relevant themed film. This year's movie will be “Hidden Figures”.

January 14 - Annual Healing Service
During our 10 am service will host our annual service of healing. This is a powerful liturgy with the opportunity to both offer and receive prayers for healing as we begin a new year.

January 21 - Family Skate Night at Palo Alto Winter Lodge
Join us on January 21 from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm at Winter Lodge, 3009 Middlefield, Palo Alto, for some family fun. Get your ice skates laced and ready to go! All children and parents in our congregation are invited to skate and socialize for some family fun! We will be serving pizza. Admission is $11 per person. Skate rentals are available at the Lodge for $5. Gloves and helmets are recommended for all skaters. Children under 4 years of age must skate with an adult. Strollers (for parents to push babies in) are allowed on the ice during our session.

January 28 - Annual Meeting
Join us after the 10 am service for lunch and the annual meeting when we will look back at 2017 and see what's ahead in 2018.

February 9 – OWLS Luncheon and Presentation by Author Alesa Lightbourne
Please join us on Friday, February 9 at noon in Angus Hall for a presentation by a local author Alesa Lightbourne who wrote a book “The Kurdish Bike” about a woman who went to Iraq to teach in a Kurdish school.
February 10 - Youth Service Day “There with Care”
Our Youth Group continues a year of service at the Bay Area Chapter of “There With Care” in Redwood City.  “There With Care” mission is to provide a wide range of thoughtful and fundamental services to children and families during the critical phase of a medical crisis. Trinity will be working with “There With Care” to make Easy Meal Care Bags with snacks and essentials for families at Ronald MacDonald House and Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital. February 11 - GAIA Sunday
Trinity’s international outreach focus is
GAIA (Global Aids Interfaith Alliance).  We sponsored Magombo Village in Malawi for 3 years, hiring Christian and Muslim caregivers to serve villagers of both faith traditions.  Next Trinity will support a GAIA Mobile Health Clinic that reaches the rural poor with life saving services, culminating on GAIA Sunday, February 11, with an African-focused 10am service and a parish celebration featuring GAIA’s new film. 

February 13 - Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper and a Children’s Ash Tuesday Service

Every year on Mardi Gras - the day before Ash Wednesday - the Trinity community gathers for an evening of pancakes and fun in Trinity Hall. Join us at 6 pm for dinner, pancake races, and more! We will be concluding the supper with a Children’s Ash Tuesday service with the imposition of ashes, following in the ancient tradition of vigil services on the evening before holy days. 


February 14 - Ash Wednesday

On Ash Wednesday we will have three services in the Chapel, at 7:30 a.m., 12 Noon, and 7:30 p.m. We hope you will be able to join us for whichever of these services fits into your schedule as we begin Lent together.


February 18 - March 11 - Book Drive for Elmwood Correctional Facilities

Trinity currently serves Elmwood Correctional Facilities by providing monthly services on the women’s  side of the jail. Trinity is invited to support this ministry through our Lenten book drive. Books are often a lifeline for inmates. Please read the guidelines here and drop off books in the back of the church during Lent.


Book Guidelines: 

Please take out any personal info or loose sheets inside the book. If possible please remove staples from spine of book. Please no books with graphic sex, violence or addressing issues of race or gender. Specially desired books: Bibles, Study Bibles, Recovery Bible, Bible study books, Christian books, Books from other religions (e.g. Buddhist, Muslim, Jewish, others welcome too), Books about world religions, Devotionals, Dictionaries, Books in Spanish, Unused books of puzzles, word searches, crosswords, coloring books, Books of poems, Inspirational reading, Books dealing with grief and recovery.


February 19 - The Rector’s Class Returns

Rev. Matthew offers classes during the program year (September through May) on Monday evenings from 7:00 - 8:15 pm, with the session repeated on Wednesday mornings from 10:30 -11:45 am. The class running in winter and spring of 2018 will focus on Job and Suffering.
