August 19 – Backpack Blessing
Children, teachers, and others who work in schools are invited to bring their backpacks (or whatever they use in place of a backpack!) to the 10 am service this Sunday as we ask God's blessing on them as the new school year begins.

September 14 - OWLS Monthly Luncheon
Please join us on Friday, September 14 at 12noon in Angus Hall for our first fall speaker, parishioner Howard Smith who will be presenting a talk on “Life Planning in the Age of Longevity.” Living long and well is more realistic for those who adopt healthy behaviors, including socially engaged routines, healthy mental habits and a feeling of financial security. He will discuss achieving these goals through a number of different thought provoking questions:  Who will change my light bulb?  Who am I going to have lunch with?  How do I know if I have enough financial resources to share?  And last but not least, he will announce the winner of the person who correctly picked, at OWLS on May 11, the closing of the Dow Industrial Average for September 14!  Don’t miss this interesting presentation,
email Alecia  in the Church Office to let her know you will be joining us for lunch.

September 16 – Celebration Sunday, Sunday School Begins, Youth Group Orientation
We will kick-off another year of learning, exploring, worship, and service together on Sunday, September 16, with our annual Celebration Sunday.
There will be one service on September 16, at 10:00 am, to bring our whole community together.   Following the service, we will enjoy a BBQ lunch together in Trinity Hall, with other fun activities for the children.

Also Sunday Shool begins during the 10 am service and there will be Youth Group Orientation from 6:00 - 8:00 pm in Trinity Hall.

September 22 - Redwood Family House Workday

September 28-30 – Church Retreat at Bishop’s Ranch

Registration is now open!
This years dates are Friday evening, September 28 through Sunday morning, September 30.  The Ranch is a special place, and it's always such a blessing to be able to take some time away in this beautiful space.  The retreat comes up rather quickly after we get our bearings in early September, so please put it on your calendar now and plan to join us.  Click here to learn more and to find the registration link Remember:  Space is limited!

October 7 – Blessing of the Animals
During the 10 am service we will be blessing our pets.  All furry, winged, gill-bearing, and other household pets are welcome to attend the service with their humans as we celebrate the spirit of St. Francis, whose generosity extended not only to people, but to animals, as well.   Much loved stuffed animals are also more than welcome to attend and receive a blessing.  If you've never attended this service before, it might sound a bit crazy:  animals in church????  But, it works!  And it's lots of fun. So round up your pets and plan to join us.

October 28 – Harvest Festival & Lunch
Please join us after Church in the Courtyard for our Harvest Festival & Lunch.  There will be food, games and crafts for all to enjoy.

November 4 - All Saints' Sunday
On Sunday morning, we will celebrate the Feast of All Saints, remembering our loved ones who have departed this life and celebrating the continuing connection shared in Christ between the living and the dead through the Communion of Saints.  The 8 am service will be in the Chapel, rather than the church, to give the choir and musicians extra time for rehearsal.  The 10 am service will include special music for this special commemoration and celebration.

December 3 - St. Nicholas Visits, Advent Festival & Pre-Christmas Lunch
On Sunday, December 3, we will observe the First Sunday in Advent -- and a whole lot more!  St. Nicholas will be making a visit at both the 8 am and 10 am services.  And, following the 10 am service, we will have an Advent Festival and Pre-Christmas Lunch in Trinity Hall, which will include making Advent Wreaths as well carol singing.
