July 30 - August 13 - Backpack Drive for Redwood Family House
As we prepare for the new school year we also begin our backpack drive for Redwood Family House. Our goal is to collect 15 backpacks with school supplies now through Sunday, August 13, and assemble them in Tierney Room the following day at 2:00 PM. As an alternative to shopping, donations made to the Outreach Backpack Drive through August 13 are also welcome. For more information or to sign up for specific items please contact 
Jim Bramlett. Redwood Family House provides transitional housing in Redwood City for 9 homeless families with 15-20 children and is operated by LifeMoves, formerly InnVision Shelter Network.



August 11 - Older Wiser Laity in Service Summer Picnic

The annual OWLS picnic will be at Trinity Church in our beautiful courtyard! Join us at noon to gather again before the program year begins. All ages welcome! Contact the Trinity Office for more information or to RSVP. 


August 20 - Summer Youth Group Gathering, Noon to 2 pm, Trinity Hall/Youth Room
The Youth Room has been frequently and lovingly used over the past program year.  It could use some cleaning.  We will dust and figure out what to keep and what to toss.  We will also talk about ways to spice the room up with new furniture or decorations.  Please come and help. 


August 22 - Catherine's Center Fashion Show
For the second year Trinity will be hosting the Catherine's Center fashion show in our courtyard.

September 2 - September 3 - 6th & 7th Grade Labor Day Weekend Event
All incoming 6th and 7th graders are invited to participate in events during the Labor Day Weekend.  This will be a time to bond with new and newer members of youth group.  And a time for those just entering youth group to learn about what we do during our youth group meetings.  It will mostly be fun and so please attend all or any part of it as you able.  Contact Patrick for more information.


September 10 - Celebration Sunday ONE service at 10 am
Join us to celebrate the end of summer and the return of our program year! We come together for ONE service at 10 am followed by a BBQ, games, a jam session, and lots of fun in the courtyard. All are welcome!


September 10 - Youth Group Orientation

All youth group members and their families are invited and encouraged to attend an orientation.  We will meet in Trinity Hall from 6-8pm beginning our time together with food and fellowship.  Patrick will spend time introducing themes and plans for the coming program year.  This will include discussion of Confirmation, service opportunities, social outings, mission trip, pilgrimage, and more.  Youth will also have the opportunity to choose what social outings they would like to schedule for the year.  We will close in a time of worship.  



September 17 - Sunday School Program Kickoff
Our Godly Play classes for k-5th grade will resume during the 10 am service. Make sure to register for Godly Play

September 17 - Youth Group Kickoff
Let’s start the year off right.  For our first official youth group gathering, we will be having a swim party celebrating the fact that we are back together again and we have a whole program year ahead of us.  Come eat and have some fun with us at the Andrew Home from 1:30-4:30.  


September 17 - The 5:05 Returns
After the summer hiatus the 5:05 evening service will return with it's normal rotation of services.


September 18 - The Rector's Class Begins
Every year Rev. Matthew hosts a class ranging over a variety of topics. In the past they have explored the Mystics, Richard Rohr, and James Alison. The topic for this year is TBD. As always, there will be two time options, either Monday evenings at 7:00 pm or Wednesday mornings at 10:30 am.

September 24 - Sunday Formation Session "Receiving the Gift of Time"

September 29 - October 1 - All Church Retreat at the Bishop's Ranch
The theme of this year’s All Church Retreat at Bishop’s Ranch will be, “Receiving the Gift of Today”, and will invite participants into a reflection on the gift of time and space – all in the context of the beautiful Bishop’s Ranch, which truly offers us both of these gifts.   Jennifer Kitt, an Assistant Vice President in development at Stanford and a member of Church of the Epiphany in San Carlos, will facilitate the programmatic portion of our retreat.  More details will be forthcoming as we move closer to the date. 


October 7 - Youth Service Day: San Francisco-Marin Food Bank
Our youth group begins a year of service around Menlo Park, the Bay Area, and the country at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank. The Food Bank provides food for 30,00 families and so many more individuals.  Youth, their families, and members of the wider congregation are invited to join us at the warehouse to sort and pack helping those in need.

October 8 - The Blessing of the Animals
Every year we celebrate St. Francis Day by inviting pets to our 10 am service to receive a blessing from the clergy. All creatures great and small are welcome! 


October 8 - Youth Confirmation Classes Begin
Confirmation is one of the sacraments of the Episcopal Church.  It is a sacred time and process in which a baptized Christian meditates on who God is and discerns if they believe in that God.  If during that process the answer is yes then that person can choose to renew their baptism by Confirmation.  Confirming their belief in a loving God and their commitment to live God's love out in their own life and in the wider world.   Youth currently in high school are invited to participate in this process.  We begin with an orientation and will meet once a month until June for teachings, service opportunities, and experiences of how others practice and worship God.  In June each young person may choose to be confirmed by the Bishop of California in a large ceremony with many other young people who feel so called.  For more information

October 8 - October 29 - Lay Pastoral Care Training
All members of the congregation are invited to join us for lay pastoral care training. These first four sessions will training lay visitors to visit our shut-ins and help share hospitality with those who struggle to come to church on Sunday's. Parent's who are interested in visiting shut-in's with their children are encouraged to take this training series. Sessions will be on Sunday's from 1:30 - 3:30. For more information please contact

October 8 - November 17 - My New Red Shoes Drive

Youth Group's year of service continues with a shoe drive for My New Red Shoes. My New Red Shoes focuses on improving the educational experience and quality of life for children in need by providing them with a pair of brand new athletic shoes and the opportunity to shop for school clothing. Please help the youth group by donating a pair of brand new shoes or making a $25 contribution towards the purchase of a pair of shoes. To learn more visit: mynewredshoes.org  or contact Patrick.


October 29 - All Saints & All Souls Party
After the 10 am service we'll be having a Halloween party in Trinity Hall! Come dressed for the occasion and enjoy food and festivities!


November 5 - All Saints Day
This is an important feast day in the Episcopal Church. It is a traditional day for baptism, as well as being a day where we remember loved ones who have past away. If you are interested in baptism, please contact
Rev. Matthew. If you would like to add a loved ones' name to our list of those who have passed away who will be remembered that day, please contact the Trinity office.


November 5 - Hearts for Justice: An Interfaith Dialouge
More information about our 4th annual Hearts for Justice Conference will be avalible soon!


November 12 - Sunday Formation Session
A local author, Sumbul Ali-Karamali will be joining us during our formation session after church to talk about "Jihad and Pluralism in Islam." You can learn more about this and our interfaith work on our

November 17 - Youth Service Day: My New Red Shoes 
Youth group concludes its My New Red Shoes drive by going on-site to volunteer for the organization.  All youth and their families are invited to particpate.

November 19 - Sunday Formation Session
Maha Elgenaidi, Executive Director of the Islamic Networks Group will be joining us during our formation session after church to talk about "Muslim Women Beyond the Stereotypes." You can learn more about this and our interfaith work on our

December 3 - St Nicholas Visits / Advent Festival & Advent Wreath Making
St. Nicholas will visit during the 8 & 10 am services to teach us a bit more about his story and role in our Christmas traditions. Following the 10 am service we will have our Advent Festival in Trinity Hall! Join us for Advent wreath making and carol singing as we celebrate the holiday season. 

December 10 - Lessons and Carols
This is a yearly service in the context of morning prayer where hear the stories and music of the Advent season. We hope you'll join us for this service, it's a favorite of many! 


December 17 - Blue Christmas Service at 5:05 pm 
For some the holiday season can be a less joyful time. In the midst of this season we offer a yearly service called The Blue Christmas Service where we create space within our liturgy to give space to the sadness or grief that some might experience during this season. All are welcome to join us for this moving and meaninful service.
